Was the Pentax LX that bad? I thought they had very good mechanics.

The difference between a Porsche and a Yugo is quite a ways.

Must admit to a certain sense of feeling like the prodigal son here. My dad
gave me a drawer full of P*ntax stuff recently (an LX body with three
finders and about 17 lenses plus a couple flashes) and I had my first
opportunity to use it Sunday night. Had a 50mm F1.2 and a 200mm F2.5 and
shot a roll at a Christmas concert at my church. Haven't gotten the results
yet, but all I can say is where's my OM??? I noted that on one of the links
referenced by a listee of 'best all time 35mm cameras' (believe it was a
Japanese list) that this particular P*ntax body was number two. I'm truly
not exaggerating too much to say that the LX was the equivalent to driving a
Yugo if say an OM-1 is a Porsche. The feel, control, and perhaps most
importantly, that magnificent shutter sound of a 1 firing. The glass he
gave me is really spectacular, but if this is representative of P*ntax's
zenith, then I've learned a lesson that you all already know.

Anyone out there interested in some really fast, impressive P*ntax glass????
(only kidding... don't ask, as I'd never ditch stuff from papa).
