It is normally reliable.  Many users like them because of the LED display,
Program mode and ESP metering.
Parts are hard to get, so hope it doesn't need extensive repair.  Some parts
are no longer available.

Top and bottom are plastic.

Yes, sound it normal.  The difference is that the PC has a second mechanism
under the mirror.  This is in effect a second mirror to send light to the
finder.  Some users really like the sound of a PC and 2S mirror.  I'm one of
them.

Unlike the G you had, the PC can make TTL exposures off the film with a T
series flash unit.
