I got into OM as part of a natural Olympus progression.
I started in '62 or '63 with a half-frame Pen-D; I wanted a small, good quality
camera that I could carry in a bumbag (fanny pack) when skiing. From there I
progressed to a Pen F SLR, and later to a Pen FT, with wideangle, standard, and
telephoto lens. I still have My Weston Master V meter that I used with the
meterless Pen F; still works fine. Around 1975, after I had emigrated to Canada,
I decided to go to a bigger negative, and bought a pre-MD OM-1, a 28/3.5
(M-series!), a 50/1.4, and a 75-150/4; I only have the 75-150 left. I remember
that I thought that the OM-1 was really too big and clumsy compared to my Pen
FT.......
Since then I have gradually acquired more OM, ending in a flurry of buying and
selling since I joined this list(!) a few months ago. Now I have a 4Ti ($175), a
2n($30 in a police auction, including a Pentax flash and a defective zoom), 12
Zuikos, and a couple of Tamrons, and quite a few accessories.....Oh, and a
newly-acqired iS-3000. I look forward to buying an E10 when the used price drops
to around 2-300 dollars...
