They were always popular. The OM-10 made that. It was hoe I got into the
system, and I'm not alone. In'94 I was in Antarctica. Some had Nikons (see,
I'm comfortable enough not to disguise it). Most has Olympus. Lens swapping
was rife. They were very popular in Australia.
