Ah, ok, I see what you were getting at now.  Yes, that makes sense, the
electromagnet would be active when triggered on "B" so the shutter would
remain open after you release the button.  I guess it was too complicated
for Olympus to disable the auto exposure circuit when the dial is switched
to "B".
