Use the speed that you see at maximum aperture. You don't have to press the
DOF button to make a meter reading.

(There is a coupling between the camera body and the lens, so that the body
knows what aperture you have selected, and adjusts the meter reading. If
you look through the viewfinder at the recommended shutter spedd, you will
see that it changes when you adjust the aperture.)
