the best resource on which lenses were always SC, sometimes MC and always
MC is still Paul Farrar's list http://www.datasync.com/~farrar/zuiko.html
there is also some relevant information on R. Lee Hawkins site at
http://brashear.phys.appstate.edu/lhawkins/photo/multicoat.txt

the SC/MC survey was Paul Schings to which can be accessed off of R. Lee
Hawkins site i.e.
http://brashear.phys.appstate.edu/lhawkins/photo/mc-sc.survey and
http://brashear.phys.appstate.edu/lhawkins/photo/photo.shtml

Since this has been coming up lately I'll also point you to my "not ready
for primetime" list: http://home.learn2.com/zekeread/zuikolst.htm which was
started from Mr Schings, but has diverged since my interest was in
identifying lens variants in photos where you might or might not be able to
read the entire lens ring. E.G. while always multi-coated you can tell an
early from a late 16/3.5 because the early ones are labeled "1:3,5 f=16mm
sn Japan" while the late ones are "16mm 1:3,5 sn Japan". The reasons for
this link not being ready for primetime are (1) it needs to be broken up -
it's about 120K (2) it doesn't give credit to Mr Schings (or links to his
list) and (3) it isn't actually my latest list.

And do remember that Olympus lenses aren't as serial as their numbers might
indicate...
