Dear friends,
Thanks to all of you who responded to my original posting
regarding 35-70mm Zoom Lenses. Some listmembers suggested 35-105mm zooms.
I don't think I will go down this route.I already have a 28-48 and 70-150
zoom.I find for non critical work I use the 28-48 a lot. (If only it were a
stop faster!) I also have a Tamron 90mm sp macro -f2.8...great lens!..and a
recently acquired 100mm f2.8
So I think it boils down to a choice between a 35-70 f4
or 35-70 f3.6. It will probably end up as the 3.6 lens.
Since posting this query I have been offered an Olympus
kit at a good price - the only problem being it is all or nothing. Kit
consists of........
              OM4 With 30 sec cut out. 50mm f1.8 made in japan. 50mm f1.4
silvernose s.n.approx 500,000, set of extension tubes (not Olympus) set of
boxed auto extension tubes Olympus(2 unused) teleplus x2 converter,T32
flash, cables Sunpack flash bracket and other odds and ends, All in an unused
Billingham bag. ALSO included a mint 35-70mm f4 zoom lens. What I think I
will do is keep the OM4 and the Billingham bag and also the f4 lens to use
and evaluate while I look for a 35-70mm f3.6. I will offer the other items
to the list....priced to sell!
Be warned..my wife blames this list for the ever
increasing stash of Olympus equipment which I seem to be accumulating! I
prefer to think of it as keeping alive my interest in a classic camera
system.
                                    Regards,
                                            John Duggan Wales. U.K.
