John,
  Please don't let the 1% that Chris refers to give you the impression
that they represent the group.  They only represent the vocal self
important narrow minded 1%.
  As Chris stated, it's your gear.  If you want to know our opinion (and
that's all it is) on value, ask for it.  If you want to make a trade,
offer it as a trade (which you did).  If you don't want to offer to the
list, it's your gear, and your choice.  
  But above all, don't let them lay a guilt trip on yourself and get
your mind warped like theirs.  Use your common sense, it will put you
way out in front of them.
