[OM] Teleconverter w/ Olympus Lenses

I was told before that the 2X-A Olympus converter can be mounted with the
180mm 2.8 Zuiko. Thus resulting in a 360mm f5.6. Although this isn't
recommended by Olympus I know it will work. As for image quality would the
200mm f4 be a better option if using the converter? This would produce a
400mm at f8. What I am trying to say is that 180mm is faster and will
of-course offer better f-stops when needed, but will the image quality be
so poor that the one stop difference with the 200mm f4 be a better option?
A rather confusing question but I am sure someone can answer it.
