Well it isn't - this quenching is only done in Normal OTF which is always at
1/60. In Super FP the regulation of exposure is done differently - the flash
starts to emit a 'continous beam of light' (really existing of very short
pulses). The OM-4Ti measures the combination of this flash light and available
light, and adjusts the shutter speed accordingly. Compare it to taking a picture
when at the moment you press the shutter the shun appears from behind a cloud.
This is calculated in the exposure. You can witness the OM-4Ti adjusting its
shutter speed with the F280 in Super FP Mode by taping the flash ready contact,
and activating exposure memory. The recorded shutter speed after the exposure
will be shorter as the indicated shutter speed before the exposure.
