Absolutely correct Winsor!  On the glass only!  If you dampen the
pad/ball enough that the alcohol or acetone runs, then you've used
WAY too much.  If you have multi-dollar glass it's well worthwhile
to do your cleaning with a great deal of care.

Back in the early '50s we had acetone in 55 gallon drums ... and
used it in our Zippo lighters.  Little wonder that I'm short of
breath nowadays!
