Some people on the Epson list are using the 1160 instead of the 1270 and
using the Lyson archival inks. The 1160 is also said to work well with the
Quadtone inks for black and white. The 1160 has the 4 picoliter variable drop
technology but the color only uses 3 plus black so the color range is not as
good as a regular color photo printer. If you have the bucks, go with the
2000 which gives you true archival quality. The only problem is a green gloss
in the dark areas when you look at the photo outside and a very slight loss
in the color gamut due to the use of the pigmented inks.

Also I think that the newest versions of the 870 and 1270 use the same ink
cartridges as before so I would think that the newest ones are not ozone safe
as well.
