[OM] Quick question on weight and batteries

Subject: [OM] Quick question on weight and batteries

Hi, I'm new to the list so I apologize if this has been covered. I
checked the FAQ and the list archive (briefly) and didn't find anything.

I'm considering moving to Olympus for a few reasons. 2 of my biggest are
for weight and lack of dependance on batteries.

Currently I'm using a Canon Elan IIe which is a fairly light body. But,
when you add to that the weight of auto focus zoom lenses plus a battery
pack and extra batteries, it adds up pretty quickly.

So what I'm wondering is, where can I find specs online for the Olympus
bodies that include the weight? I've found the documentation archive and
that's given me the specs for a few bodies but I'd like a more complete
source if one exists.

Also, the battery question. Which bodies have shutters that will work at
all speeds even with a dead battery? Which have shutters that will at
least 1 mechanical speed? Or to look at it another way, which bodies are
completely unusable when the battery is dead?

I'd appreciate any info you could give me.
