The Everglades are actually quite a distance from Clearwater - (4 hours
drive or so).  I was just down there and was extremely disappointed.  Many
of the boardwalks were falling down, or were closed altogether.  Corkscrew
swamp, however, is very nice and is a bit closer (close to Naples).
