You are right. It is a 2.8 (just checked). I do not know why there would
be chromatic aberration. Those in the astrophotography circuit finf the 180
2.8 and the 135 2.8 as two of the best lenses you can get for this purchase.
the 180 still seems hard to find.

You can't find it 'cause there ain't no such thing. Unless I am badly
mistaken, which I have been a time or two, but not lately, there is no
180/2. There is a 180/2.8, and I have one. Great lens. Now I expect
we'll hear from those who claim this lens suffers from chromatic aberration
(snore). Maybe so, but I've never seen it.
