: my name's eric and

and soon you shall be Zuikoholic. Welcome to ZA!

: i am interested in something that will grow with my level of experience and
: knowledge so i don't have to go buy something new in 10 years. i've come to
: the conclusion that the OM-2 is the way to go. what do you all think? thanks
: for any advice.

The OM-2 was introduced in 1975 and discontinued in 1979. Its successor the
OM-2n was introduced in 1979 and discontinued in 1984. So we're talking about a
camera that is at least 17 years old and maybe up to 26 years. If you want a
camera that is more likely to last at least 10 years, buy an OM-4Ti; sometimes
you find used ones for really nice prices. Since this is a current production
camera, parts will be available for quite some time. And with its sophisticated
spot metering system it also allows to grow with your level of experience.
