G'day Eric,

Although only an Oly owner for ten days, I found a web site that offers a
pretty complete reprinting (with comments) of OM-1 & 2 User Manuals. It's
from a series by a Malaysian group and the URL is:

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/olympusom1n2/ind
ex.htm

Regards,
John.

First Q: Practice, shoot film. Lots. Read books, magazines etc, look at
work
you admire and try to work out how and why it was made. Books I would
recommend are: anything by John Shaw (if you're into landscape/nature), The
35mm Photographer's Handbook by Julian Calder & John Garrett. Go to the
library and pick out a couple of the bigger books that have "complete" or
"encyclopedia" in the title and plough through it (John Hedgecoe is a good
name). There are stacks of "How to" books, just find ones you enjoy reading
& aspire to take photos like those used as illustrations.

Second Q: start with the camera's user manual, then buy the appropriate
version of Carl Shipman's "How to select & use Olympus OM cameras". IMHO
it's the most straightforward and definitely the best value book on using
the OM system.

BTW I have a spare copy of the 1989 Shipman book, covering the OM-88,
OM77af, OM-PC, OM4, OM4Ti. ?12 + postage to UK or Europe.

Simon E.
