I think OM lives for the same reason auto makers want into Formula 1-the
prestige of that high end affilation. Olympus may not make or sell much OM
stuff anymore (I do my best to help-got a new 4Ti last week!). But neither
does Chrysler from the Viper or Prowler, they make $$ with the Minivan and
Intrepid. Olympus want's the respect that a quality SLR brings, they make
money on the stylus line and do well in digital. So maybe OM is like
Porsche, a quality precision machine- not an mass produced mcCamera. Anyway
perhaps they could merge an OM-AF line with digital, kind of like NKN did
with the D1/F5.....

By the way, how does Olympus OM sales compare to Leica (another quality
niche player)?
