I'm working hard at letting them discover the craft themselves. Sometimes I
just want to shout 'NO' when I see them taking a picture, but I realized
early that film is cheap compared to memories. If they come away with one
or two nice shots from a 24 exposure roll, then it was a great day.

I didn't even really 'critique' the results. We went through them together
and Shelby showed me the ones she liked. She has a good eye. I fully
expect their photography to pass mine any moment now.

The OM-G bodies are already 'their' cameras. I'd been keeping them with
mine, but after this trip, they get to keep them in their rooms. The sense
of ownership is an important part of the process. That was the beauty (and
my like) of the OM-G. For about the same as a cheap P&S, they have a real
camera.

It was one of the nicest afternoons together that we've had in awhile.

On the list is the zoo with a telephone lens!

What a wonderful story. And if you don't make the mistake
my parents made when they wanted to get me interested in
something -- being too pushy, that is -- and let them
discover for themselves, your daughters are very lucky!

Since her father is not using Olympus, I hope he's not here,
so I can say that I like her pictures better than his.
