I often find that trying to focus a tripod-mounted 4Ti is not the world's
easiest thing.
For stability, I try to keep the tripod centre-column as short as possible.
This means that I often have to lean over in an awkward position, with my eye
not quite as snug in the viewfinder as it would be with hand-held.
A recent typical example was the Lunar Eclipse. Because the camera was pointing
up at an angle of about 60 degress,
I had to get on my knees to compose the shots - focussing wasn't a problem -
infinity.
Would a varimagnifier make life any easier in this situation? Is this what it is
designed to do?

PPS the tripod is an aeons-old Linhoff Technika which I picked up for next to
nothing 20 years ago.
It is very basic, just 3 legs and a centre column, no struts,but I thought the
name might have a bit of class!
Manfrotto ball head - this has got class.
