I was always taught to store it with the flash at full charge. Gave the
capacitor better life. If the flash is stored in a discharged mode, then
the capacitor had more of a tendency to leak.
We always noticed when we received Honeywell flash units that they had been
stored in a charged mode. We would always trip the flash when we got them
out of the boxes.
