Yeah.  Think of it as an "administration fee" that the shippers are charging 
you for the privilege of the item going from door to door without spending a 
week in some Customs warehouse first.  FedEx tends to be the most timely this 
way -- the worst is Purolator Courier (a Canadian company that's basically an 
extension of Canada Post, and *doesn't* normally schlepp stuff through Customs 
for you; I oughta know, 'cause I once had $2,000.00 [CDN] worth of camera 
equipment sit in a Canada Customs warehouse in Toronto for six days whilst I 
argued with some junior functionary over the phone about how NAFTA worked when 
it came to new/used camera equipment.  She eventually caved when a superior 
nudged her while she was on the phone to me and handed her the duty list.  8^>

P.S.:  I suspect they call it a "customs fee" so that you'll think you're 
getting stiffed by your respective government.
