Right off of their wonderful AFL design, with the same set of
non-replaceable lithium batteries, they were probably anxious to design
several things around this new battery technology.  Good thing they didn't.
Dealers HATED the AFL, first for not being able to change the batteries
(which wouldn't fix camera breakdowns anyway) and second for no filter
threads, so they couldn't sell lens caps or filters for it.
