Sorry about that, but no, you're not missing anything. I didn't check to
see exactly what cells you need. My comment was just a general
statement.

Nicad capacity is a bit deceiving though. You can have two brands of
cells, or two different types from the same company, both with the same
amp/hour capacity, yet one will work much better in a fast
charge/discharge environment, or in a lace where the current drain is
high. 

It has to do with the chemistry, internal construction etc. The
Panasonic "SC" type cells are made for high temperatures, fast cycling,
high discharge rates etc. Great for a RC model ( or a motor drive... ),
but they'd be a poor choice for a memory backup battery. This explains
why nicads are still better for things like winders and flash units than
a nickel metal hydride battery of the same, or even slightly greater
capacity. The nicad's lower internal impedance allows it to supply the
high currents needed by these kinds of devices. 

In your case though, I think general purpose cells, the lowest $$ ones
for a given amp/hour rating should work fine.
