[OM] the value of bokeh

Ian, Andrew, Richard, Chris & John,

Thanks for responding and keep up the good bokeh! Anyone
else have good or bad bokeh shots to share?

Photographs always have a primary
object of attention, as well as secondary/complementary
content such as background, foreground, with bokeh'd (or
clear) object(s). My latest theory is that it's the primary
and secondary objects in some sort of especially
harmonious, tension-filled, or otherwise interesting
relationship in a photo that cause the viewer to feel like
there's more in the photograph than what is actually in the
photograph. Conversely, if the relationship between primary
and secondary 'objects' is too unconnected, then the photo
seems pretentious. Therefore it's not just the photograph,
it's what the photograph calls to mind by being itself.
What do you think?

Eric
