Winsor,
I did say that it's the closest thing we Americans have. I'm quite familiar
with the OED, and it is a breathtaking achievement. I couldn't have done
without it in grad school; but I don't happen to need three pages on the
pronoun "I" at present. And there's really no need for you to feel
embarrassed ;>}
