The problem here is one of inequity. The prices of software packages bear no
resemblance to manufacturing or R&D costs, but are priced at what the market
will stand.

Here in the UK an average 'Playstation' game will cost anything from £40.00
upwards. I understand that the same game can be purchased in other countries
for as much as £30.00 less! Under these circumstances I have no compunction
in having my sons 'Playstation' chipped and buying pirate games. When a
realistic price is charged for them I will buy them, but not until. A friend
of mine has just returned from Malaysia loaded with DVD films. All original
proper ones that he purchased brand new for less than one quarter of the UK
price.

When they stop ripping us off, they will get some co-operation, but the ball
is firmly in their court.

It is a free market in the UK, manufacturers and retailers can charge
whatever price they like or can get away with, but if they are going to be
greedy, or see us in the UK as a soft touch, then they must expect the
inevitable consequences.

I see myself as a perfectly lawbiding citizen, I have never been in any sort
of trouble with anybody, but I will not stand by and be stitched up by these
anonymous organisations.
