Chris,

I've got the SCSI version of the beast.

Not a bad little scanner overall, though I would think the parallel version
would be slower.  1700 dpi, decent scanning speed, good quality.  The
software is horrible, however.  Awkward, poor/inaccurate film selection,
runs on '95/'98 only.  The reply from Olympus when asked when/if they were
going to come out with an NT/2000 driver stated that the ES-10 was "old
technology" and that they had no intention of developing updated drivers.
This is despite the fact that they, B&H, etc. still carry & sell the
scanner.  3rd party developers (Vuescan) don't see enough of a market for it
to develop the drivers necessary either.

For the price, it ain't bad.  If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't buy
it.  But I'm not so dissatisfied with it that I've replaced it yet, either.
The scan quality is good.

Come to Texas.  We'll drink margaritas, shoot bluebonnets & scan trannies.
The margaritas invariably make the scans look better. <g>
