Greg L. asked me awhile back to look at the color fringing of the Tamron
SP 80-200mm f/2.8. Well, I looked at a few lenses:
250mm f/2 Zuiko: none (as expected from an apochromatically corrected
lens)
80-200mm f/2.8 Tamron: in roughly equal amount to the following:
300mm f/4.5 Zuiko MC
180mm f/2.8 Zuiko MC
400mm f/4 Tamron
I've tested three 180mm f/2.8 Zuikos and they all color fringe.
I have no way of quantifying this spherical aberration I'm seeing, so I
don't expect to do anything more on this.
