I have the Flash Meter IV. It's got a few extra bells and whistles that makes balancing daylight and flash a bit easier. Also use it with the 5° spot attachment (when I'm not using an OM-4t that is). It's a great all-around meter...once you figure out all the functions.

The Auto Meter is more than adequate for most, simpler and certainly less expensive.

I'm looking for a light meter, and don't know much about them.
What is the difference between a flash meter (such as the Minolta Flash
Meter IV)
and an auto meter (Minolta Auto Meter IV). Is there a disadvantage
to buying a Flash Meter and using it for normal light photos?
Also, I assume that flash meters are incident rather than spot readings,
or does this vary with the brand of meter?
I imagine that I'll use the meter most for portraits where at least some
flash would be used.

Thanks in advance for the help, folks!

Mike
