I don't think the lack of info is uncommon....especially during wartime
manufacture....records are lost or never kept.....parts are utilized from
different manufacturing runs which may have come from different
vendors.....an assembler takes a part from a different line....etc.  It's
normally not very important to the manufacturer unless you needed a serial
number to match a replacement part.
