If it's a 50/1.8 from that era, then it's an SC lens . . . and should have a marking of "F.ZUIKO" on the objective ring . . . meaning it has six elements. I owned a 50/1.8 which I bought new in 1980 (sold it last year with an OM-10). The 50/1.8's were not multi-coated until much later. Nearly all the lenses that were multi-coated at that time were marked "MC" and did not have a "X." prepended to the "ZUIKO" mark.
