This debate isn't about the price this lens was offered at, especially
considering it was offered dead square on eBay's 3 year average for 10-
(KEH=Ex+) cosmetic condition at $449. If anything it was a fine
appraisal. Anyone can offer goods at any price they choose and good
netiquette is to not badger a seller over being too low or too high. The
debate is rather about how people appraise something they are selling -
and is broader in scope than any one person's actions. Lacking
condition grade information for comparables, many sellers have to make
assumptions about where their sample falls into a posted/published range
of prices. A benefit of an open debate on the subject is the knowledge
that using the freely available price info appearing for many cameras
systems, as posted all over the WWW, can lead to pitfalls in appraisals.
