Hi Folks,

I'm in the market for a tripod. I really enjoy taking pictures of flowers -----

See: http://people.atl.mediaone.net/jjohnso4/C-3040A_images/ )

and have decided to incorporate that with hiking by taking wildflower pictures. Since lots of wildflowers are built pretty low to the ground the tripod will need to be able to do the same. I'd also like to be able to extend it to a more normal height for other use and the weight also needs to be reasonable. I'm not willing to spring for a carbon fiber model as I hope to keep the outlay to $200 or less with a head. One unit that I'm presently considering is the Manfrotto 3021N.

 See: http://www.bogenphoto.com/feature/rightscreen_one.php3?newsid=11

It can be had for ~$125 less the head. At 5 lbs it's a little heavier than I'd like but I'm not sure you can pare much more weight than that without going to carbon fiber.

So, do you think the Manfrotto fits my needs pretty well or - do you have another favorite that I should consider.

Thanks for your help,
Johnny
