Ralph,

It wouldn't make any sense to get a Bessa-R with the 25/4. That lens isn't rangefinder coupled.

What would make sense is to get a Bessa-L with no finder (but a meter) from B&H for $130 and a used 25/4 for ~$250 w/finder off Ebay as those who just got the new 21/4 sell their 25/4's. So you get a take-anywhere body, with a meter and a state-of-the-art super-wide-angle lens for <$400. Not a bad deal for the quality.

BTW, I have a 25/4, and it's a fabulous lens; easily the equal in performance to my Zuiko 24/2.8.

You could also get a Fed or Zorki. I have a couple, neither cost more than $50, and produce fine pictures. But there's no meter.

I agree that there would be a market for a handy 24mm camera to take on
trips, and this camera looks very interesting: Voigtlander BESSA-R
Rangefinder ($499 US) & 25mm Snapshot-Skopar f/4 ($339 US), but given
the
price, I think I don't think I'll be picking................
