My Russian bodies with Leica thread mounts are a Zorki 1c (a chrome copy
of
a Leica II but with improved viewfinder - handles and works
beautifully).........
I've got a similar Zorki with the lousy finder, but I use a
separate
50mm finder anyway. No lugs and no slow speeds, but the camera
fits the pocket and I can imitate some of the slow speed well enough to
get by.
Russian/Ukrainian eBay sellers with whom I have had good experiences are
fotomaster, photoua, holms, order300@xxxxxxx and priluk, but with some
of
them, cameras are just a commodity, of which they seem to know very
little.
For a very knowledgeable seller, though much more expensive, look at
fedka
in New York.
Thanks for the tips. I got mine on eBay. Anyone buying one of
these should
e-mail the seller to confirm the presence of the take-up spool!!

Are the 50/1.5 and the 85/2 good practical lenses (the Jupiters)?
Voigtlander
has a new 28/1.9 as well as the 12/5.6. They're also marketing lots of
viewfinders, plus a new 21/4 that's rangefinder coupled like the 28/1.9.
BTW, many Leitz lenses, older, have not aged well due to
'clouding',
something to do with a previously Leitz glue that decomposes. I
believe this is only true for the older Leitz screwmount lenses and
not those from Canon, Nikon and Russian made. This makes them
often a better practical choice from a performance/price basis.
The Russian lenses are such a great buy. You can put a rangefinder
outfit together for a few hundred dollars, not thousands like with the
Leica M system. To close, there even some Zuikos in screwmount!
