Hi Bill,
I have a BG2 and have found that on mine its very easy to "lock" the knurled
ring by over turning it. Its happened to me a couple of times and has been a
real pain to get it loosened again. It takes a fair amount of effort. The
lesson I've learned.- when I tighten and loosen the ring I do it slowly and
with some care not to turn it too far. Good luck.
