This worked for me. So far from my Dad I have received or purchased: OM-2,
135/3.5, 50/1.8, 35-70/4, F-280, OM-4T and probably some other items I've
forgotten.

It wasn't eyesight related, he sees just fine. Much of what I received came
from him deciding to go to an Olympus digital, instead of still shooting
35mm.

Notable, though, is that he absolutely will NOT give up his OM-1. Like many
here, he says there's no earthly reason to part with what's got to be one of
the finest manual bodies ever made.

The moral of this story is: Encourage your parents to collect OM equipment.
