Jay -- Thanks!!!  The magnet was just where you said it was, the plate came
off w/o a problem, and an alcohol swab seems to have cleaned the magent off
just fine -- tho it didn't seem sticky.  Camera now operates as it should,
with a nice long 1 sec. manual exposure.

The deal looks better all the time!  :-))))))
