You'll have to explain that to me !
I've always just "done it" : grab the camera and
start shooting in more or less the same position.
Specially for buildings that are >10 meters
away, or for skylines, you can just keep your 2
feet in the same position and not worry about the
rest.
I guess for a real panorama, you'll want to use a
tripod that you set up really horizontally and
turn the camera around like that. But I never
really cared for that, I've only made 2-D
compositions myself. I should puzzle a nice one
from Taipei (Taiwan) together, photograph it and
post it somewhere, so you can see what I mean.
Most work I did like that was just using the
50mm/f1.8 or a 28mm/f2.8. The latter is nice if
the subject is rather close.
