Per the OM-2S manual:

"Even if the lens aperture is not set to the minimum value, the camera
will take perfect exposures, within the limits of shutter speed range
available."

I think that you're okay, provided that 1/1000 of a second at the
minimum aperture that you have chosen does not result in overexposure.
It's really a question of aperture chosen, and the ASA speed of the film
you're using.

The camera will "beep" at you from time to time, to complain about this
treatment. I put the control on "manual" when I'm not actually
shooting.
