Super-grainy look is very trendy these days for things like B&W wedding
shots. Special effects have their day - why would anyone spend a fortune on
a Zeiss Softar for portraits, for instance. Or a 'fog' filter? Or sepia
tone a print?
Sharpness isn't always what you want.
