I found that its not that easy either! One thing I have tried is: with the
50mm lens on the camera body for an approx. actual size image, I look at
something at mid-distance (across the room?) through the camera, pointing it
so it overlaps what I can see through my 'free' left eye, and then alternate
between 'concentrating' on what I can see with each eye.

One thing that tells me, is if there's any discomfort from refocusing my eyes
between what's in the viewfinder and what's outside.

on the screen at any setting. >>

I get just the same 'problem' since I don't need to wear spectacles (yet).
It's easy to get the dioptre setting 'wrong' and end up straining your eyes a
bit.

[A guy sent me a free spare -5 dioptre correction lens with a consignment of
other OM gear recently. When I tried it for curiosity, it looked to me like
the focusing screen had retreated a mile away! I could just about focus on
it, but not without effort! I removed it straight away, to try to avoid
getting an instant headache.]

Kind regards,

Dave Bellamy.
