I'm inclined to agree with Chris here, unfortunately. Even (or especially) our
super overpriced cars have a ton of cheap plastic, and Detroit offers no
apologies. Past uses of quality materials such as stainless steel trim, real
wood, 1/4 inch safety glass as opposed to 1/8, etc. or so is over. People are
actually adamantly defending the idea of their dashboards & consoles being made
out of low class plastic. Even Vipers, etc. at over $50,000. (unless you're
loaded and enjoy pointing out the name of what you have & quality isn't the
point. The same goes for some of the [sacrelige! apologies] Zuikos, as compared
to some 3rd party lenses).
Maybe its the same everywhere, but the higher end English cars do seem to have
a higher level of fit/finish/plushness...
