I seem to have made a confusing question. Sorry for that folks.

The gist of the answers seems  clear to me: an OM4 with the OM4T
circuit is not functionally equivalent to and OM4T, (according to
one reply, due to lack of an additional circuit, and lack of a hotshoe
contact).
