Yes, use chrome battery caps only (black caps have paint on the threads and
they DO cause problems) also make sure bottom cover screws are tight.

| It's a long shot, but you may want to check the contacts in the battery
| compartment. Perhaps they're corroded. Also, does this body have the
| black-painted battery and MD covers? According to John H. they can cause
| problems. I'm sure you have some chrome covers lying around somewhere.
