My SO (a native Texan) says "puh-cahn." My description: that's a short "u",
short "a" and with the "puh" being essentially a plosive and the "cahn"
being slightly drawn out over the "a."

Just curious -- how else would you pronounce it?

Like the first part of peckin'?
Like bacon, but with a P instead of a B?
Like piquant, but without the trailing t?

I'm sure there's more ways to mutilate the vowels, but my imagination ran
out..
