Well, I am one a those Southners. And I like ta jabber lots my own
self.
My bony fides as a Southner are ab-so-lute-ly IM-PECK-A-BLE. In
my first job after gradjatin from high school, I approved charges on
Elvis's Sears Roebuck Revolvin' Charge. (We didn't turn none a thse
charges down. Howsomever unlike some I believe that pore feller is
DAID.)
But you won't ketch me postin' none a those "OT" posts. I'm on a
lotta these lists. Iffen I got somethin ta say and it don't have nuthin to
do with whut that group talks around, I just look through them
headers and gits the e-mails of those folks I can TELL from the way
they talks wud enjoy hearin' what I got to say. And I sends it just to
them folks, 'stead o' to the list.
Now I gotta confess this is a WHOLE LOT more trouble than jest
hittin' that ol' "REPLY" button & postin' to the whole list. Takes more
time. But then, like ya say, I'm a Southner - no hurry, I got time to do
it RIGHT.
My dear departed Mamma taught me that INTERRUPTIN' is rude.
An' if I yell somethin' loud enuff for hunnerts of people to hafta listen
to it an' it ain't what they came around to listen to, well my Mamma
never knew nothin' 'bout cyberspace, but I figger that pretty well fits
her definition of INTERRUPTIN'.
Sooooooooo.... if somethin' looks like I oughtta put that ol' "OT" on
it, well, I just don't send it to the group, that's all. Just the way I
wuz
taught.
