I drove a Z-06 all day about a month ago.
Whoa, what a car.  4.something 0-60 and 1.0G on the skidpad.
And no, there weren't any rattles. The 6-speed gearbox was
very nice.  The interior wasn't up to German car standards,
but the price isn't either.  
And I've never liked Corvettes...

I'm guessing you haven't been in a Corvette in a few years. The fit and
finish of the current models are superb.  Rock solid, very tight, no
rattles, unparalled performance.  28mpg on the highway.

Perhaps you're thinking of 70's or 80's Corvettes. Clearly not the same
league as today.
